How to fasten a screw? cz.2
Fastening screws in thin walls
1 The partition is too thin, to hold the screw. Drill a hole and push the collet with wings into it. When his "wings" cease to meet resistance, they will open and wedge in a fixed position. Do your best, so that the hole in the wall is no longer, or of a larger diameter, than necessary.
2 Start tightening the screw, while pulling the plank away from the wall. This allows the wings of the pin to open to their full width. If the partition is reinforced with wooden beams, try to drill holes, that will pass through it. Wanting to locate the beams, tap the wall. Tam, where you will hear a thud, drill a hole.
Fastening screws in wooden surfaces
1 So that the holes in the brackets and in the wall align with each other, try to drill and wood in one go, and the wall. Use a twist drill bit with a diameter slightly smaller than the diameter of the screw. Thanks to this, the screw will hold more firmly. Alternatively, you can drill a hole and countersink the opening with a countersink.
2 Insert a wall plug into the wall and hammer it all the way in, and then insert the end of the screw into the hole in the pin. Tighten with a screwdriver, until the screw head is just below the surface of the wood. For larger holes, you can tighten the screw with a hand drill or an electric drill, assuming the appropriate tip.
