How to fasten a screw?

Most brackets must be mounted into the wall or wooden board with screws.
The choice of screw depends on the weight of the loaded shelf, and the method of its mounting – on the type of wall. Screw lengths from 5 do 7,5 cm. The weight of the shelf also determines the diameter
screw, who must keep him. Screws number 6 are only suitable for light shelves, screws number 10 they are able to hold even heavily loaded shelves.
Following these two extreme sizes, you can easily choose the screw diameter that suits your needs. Screws cannot hold in plaster or mortar, therefore in most cases you will have to use wall plugs.

Fastening screws in solid walls

1 Drill a hole in the wall with a depth equal to the length of the expansion plug. Before drilling, by moving the drill by hand, make a depression in the wall; thanks to this, the drill will not slip on the wall. Plaster is a weak material, therefore you have to drill down to brick or concrete. However, it would be inadvisable to drill a hole too deep, so cover the drill with tape at the desired height.
2 Insert the expansion plug into the hole and screw in the screw. The pin will expand, so that the screw will stick firmly in the wall. But be careful, in order not to screw in the screw too deep and pierce the end of the plug. Do not drill holes near sockets or switches or in places, where pipes can run.
