We use concrete for the foundations of the house and all construction elements, which require special durability. Moreover, concrete is easy to form, which allows it to be used in many places. A DIY enthusiast can also use concrete in many places in the house, as long as it obeys the rules of its preparation and statics.
Construction site
Construction works, both to a large and small extent, should be carefully planned and prepared. Before starting them, we must obtain a permit from the local state construction supervision authority, and not only for the construction of new buildings, but also for larger adaptation works in residential buildings, that could affect their durability. The same also applies to works, which change the external appearance of the house, like for example. inserting larger windows or cladding the façade with a faced wall. Before submitting an application for a construction permit to the office, you will need the help of a professional, which may be an architect, engineer or construction foreman. When in doubt, whether the intended construction works require a permit, inform yourself at the office before starting them (urban, district office, communal). It's for free. If it turns out later, that this work required a permit, you will have to pay a fine at the very least, and in the worst case scenario, it may even dismantle a building that has been erected with great labor and cost. Even then, it is advisable to plan the works carefully, when you do not need a permit for their execution. If necessary, we list the construction works as precisely as possible, on the basis of which you can then
establish, what materials and what amounts are needed.
Before we order or bring them, we should arrange the construction site. This means preparing landfills for many building materials, electricity and water supply as well as preparation of machines and tools, such as concrete mixers. When planning larger construction works, you should also remember about a lockable room for the storage of moisture-sensitive materials, e.g. cement, and tools. If we plan to build a larger structure, for example, a garage or even a residential house, a construction site development plan should be prepared and therefore convenient places for the storage of materials and the arrangement of the necessary equipment should be provided. One more tip, which is not directly related to the performance of works, but it can turn out to be very important. All persons participating in the construction should be insured. Thanks to this, you can protect yourself against the risk of losses resulting from accidents, which the builder himself would otherwise suffer. On the construction site, in a place visible from the street, a construction information board should be placed, according to the rules.
