Pavement tiles
Pavement tiles.
In order to make paving slabs, we pour concrete into a suitable form and carefully dress its surface.
In a simple example we will describe here, how concrete is made into slabs. We can use such boards to arrange the pavement, and plates of the appropriate format for a garden barbecue or for many other purposes. Own production of such discs makes sense then, when discs of, which is not available for sale. First, formwork for several boards at once. A formwork shield can be used as the base, on which of the slats with a cross-section 3 x 5 cm, a frame is made that corresponds to the size of the desired plate format. The height of the strip corresponds to the thickness of the manufactured board and is set accordingly. A compacted concrete mass is made of aggregate and cement. Water is added gradually, so that the mixture is not too thin. Then pour the concrete into the mold and compact it well with a rammer. With a straight board, scrape off the excess concrete and remove it from the surface. The decking strips define the wear plane, thanks to which we obtain an even surface. When scraping, we move the board one after another, once the other way, so that the larger grains of gravel do not make holes in the surface. If there is no concrete in some places, we put it on again and thicken it. Then, with a moist wooden trowel, we rub the shrunken surface with a rotating motion, thanks to which we additionally compact and level the surface. Finally, use a smoothing trowel to smooth the board; all the pores in the concrete close and a mirror-like surface is created.
Po 48 hours, we can strip the board. The slab should be stored with care until the concrete hardens, it would break under load.
