Concrete surface treatment
Concrete surface treatment
The visible concrete surface can be processed in various ways, in order to get a nicer invoice. Because the fresh concrete conforms to the formwork, we can shape its surface with the help of the material used for the formwork. A rough surface can be obtained with freshly sawn boards, using a smooth -smooth surface.
Washed concrete
The surface of paving slabs or other concrete elements for the garden is often made of washed concrete. In washed concrete, the top layers of gravel in the concrete are no longer covered with cement, are therefore visible. To obtain such a surface, the concrete element should be stripped of the formwork, before it hardens, in order to be able to wash off small aggregate components and cement from the surface. Wash after approx. 12-14 hours. A stone or wire brush and plenty of water are used for this, the gravel grains may be exposed only up to a third of their diameter, otherwise they will come loose. Choosing the granulation and color of the aggregate, different types of washed concrete can be created.
Concrete surface structure
Patterns can be formed on the surface of fresh concrete with various tools. E.g. you can mark a line on it with the trowel, similar to the plastered wall. By dragging a clean and hard broom across fresh concrete, we can shape an even pattern on its surface and make it rough. Depending on the preferences and mood, the concrete surface can also be formed with other tools and objects.
